Residenzschloss Bad Arolsen (Bad Arolsen Palace)
Bad Arolsen is especially known for its glorious palace.
The Bad Arolsen Palace was built 1713-1728 after the designs of Prince Friedrich Anton Ulrich and the master builder Julius Ludwig Rothweil. This is a Baroque-style palace modelled on Versailles.
Every spring, it becomes a cultural centre that hosts the Bad Arolser Barockfestspiele (Bad Arolsen Baroque Festival).
Take a guided tour through the palace, relax while listening to a concert (Schlosskonzert) in the Stone Hall (Steinerner Saal) or visit an exhibition in the west wing of the palace.
The armoury exhibition can be visited without a guided tour. You will receive a catalogue with a detailed description of every weapon and the rooms to be found.
