On tour on the Fulda River with the canoe
The source of the Fulda River can be found in the Rhön Mountain Range, on the top of the Wasserkuppe Mountain, the highest mountain of the federal state of Hesse (950 m).
In the town of Hann. Münden, the Fulda River unites with the Werra River to the Weser River. From the town of Bad Hersfeld onwards, the Fulda River can be used by canoeists. It crosses Eastern and Northern Hesse with the regions:

- Nature park Münden
There are plenty of things to see along the Fulda River
Colourful meadows, vast fields, and small towns with lovely nooks and crannies and venerable stone bridges border the river banks.
Cities and towns along the Fulda River:
- Fulda, the dome city
- Bad Hersfeld, the festival city
- Rotenburg an der Fulda, a city with impressive half-timbered buildings
- Melsungen with its romantic half-timbered buildings and the historic Bartenwetzerbrücke Bridge
