Knüll Wildlife Park
Enjoy nature at its best! While walking through the 50 ha large park you can watch local species in ample deer parks, enclosures and aviaries.
The Knüll Wildlife Park is the perfect place for recreation, entertainment, walks and relaxation. Here you can enjoy nature at its best. Approx. 50 ha of the park territory contain a wide range of local animal species inside spacious deer parks, enclosures and aviaries. Close contact with animals is also possible as many wild animals and birds roam free in the park.
The Knüll Wildlife Park natural reserve also has deer-park scouts who organise nature programmes and special events on environmental matters and learning about nature. A permanent exhibition provides information about the “Natural and Cultural Landscape in Knüll”. Parallel to this, there are various other exhibitions on different subjects. The scouts take visitors on guided tours through the wildlife park, providing information about the habitats and living habits of different species as well as organising exciting adventure sessions for children to admire the local fauna in its natural environment.
At the entrance area there is another highlight: the Experience Nature Playground (NaturErlebnisSpielplatz). Here, children of all ages can play as they wish, while adults are enjoying their meal at the nearby “Jagdbaude” Inn.
From the lookout on the Streuflingskopf, there is a magnificent view of the valley with its small towns as well as glimpses of the Knüll mountains for you to peruse.
Opening hours
- February 1 - March 31 every day from 10am till dusk
- 1 April-31 October every day from 9am till 7pm
- 1 November-31 January Saturday and Sunday from 10am till dusk
- Closed on 24 December and 25 December.
- During the Christmas holidays in Hesse the park is open daily from 10am till dusk.
- Last entrance for visitors is one hour before closing time. Free parking facilities.

How to get there
You can reach the Knüll Wildlife Park and the Nature Centre by taking the A7 motorway exit Homberg/Efze followed by Knüllwald-Remsfeld or via the B254 national highway. Follow the signs marked “Wildpark” in Homberg/Efze-Lützelwig.
