Kassel: Museum Fridericianum
Experience new trends in contemporary art in different exhibitions and artist retrospectives
The art museum Fridericianum established under the artistic director René Block an exhibition profile with huge international response. Even outside of the documenta-exhibitions Kassel is known now as an important venue for contemprary art.
Subject-related exhibitions and artist retrospectives communicate the modern trends in present-day art. Since 1998 the examination of the so-called periphery of the international art scene is a recurring theme. In addition to that offers the Curator’s Studio (Kuratorenwerkstatt) an insight into the work of young curators.
To communicate the exhibitions overview- and theme –related tours as well as a weekly jour fixe with talks and activities are offered.
The Art Society Kassel is also based in the Museum Fridericianum. The magazine “Kunstverein + Kunsthalle” gives information on activities of both institutions.
